We're hiring a Dairy Livestock Production Specialist! In this role, you will profitability increase dairy feed sales in the Oneonta, NY territory. This role focuses on selling feed and all related products that will optimize the cooperative/dealers market share and savings, improve the cooperative/dealers efficiency, and help to achieve the cooperative/dealers mission and goals.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Calling on dairy producers to evaluate existing feeding programs; Recommend and assist them with their nutritional programs
- Selling/consulting at the farm gate with the end goal of selling Purina products and programs and growing sales and market share
- Organizing and conducting effective educational meetings/events to enhance Purina's brand image, sell product and build store traffic with local co-op/dealer
Experience & Education:
- Bachelors degree in Animal Science, related field or equivalent experience required
- Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Sales experience desired
Required Competencies & Other Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, focus, along with strong organization and time management skills.
- High internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, and leadership in a team environment.
- Basic command of making nutritional recommendations to dairy producers
- Understanding of dairy husbandry, current management practices and nutritional guidelines and general market understanding
- Candidate has strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to network in the industry and market to put dairy producers together to earn additional business and relationships
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, necessary for success.
Percentage of Travel:
-15 % over night travel, in addition to daily travel in the assigned geography

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
