Manufacturing ShiftSupervisor

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze Process data relating to Continuous Flow process
  • Utilize knowledge of process control for manufacturing decision-making
  • Directly supervise all shift personnel responsible for the manufacturing of products related to the Life Sciences businesses to ensure that daily production quantity and quality standards are met
  • Ensure daily that employees provide a concise and accurate documentation and communication of variances in process, procedures or production priority, along with corrective action taken
  • Ensure resource planning aligns with production/scheduling need
  • Play a key role in supporting continuous improvement efforts to achieve and sustain equipment availability and line performance goals.
  • Define and achieve quality performance that allows Oneonta to meet or exceed expectations and manufacturing goals and cost objectives
  • Hold teams to standard operating procedures, code of conduct, plant/company and safety rules, collective bargaining agreement
  • Engage the Union workforce through setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable
  • Drive continual process improvement utilizing Six Sigma Process
  • Achieve and maintain superior safety and housekeeping performance
  • Contribute to company s identified goals and objectives
  • Support new product implementations as required

Travel Requirements:

  • <10%, Occasional trips to Corning, NY or Tewksbury, MA.

Shift:

  • Third shift position, Monday Friday, 11:00 pm 7:00 am, some flex time as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Ceramics/Plastics).
  • Minimum 1+ years supervisory or manufacturing experience.

  • Excellent leadership skills, ability to work at all levels of the organization, continuously mentor, coach or teach.
  • Critical decision-making skills, lead to SOP, trouble shoot and act under pressure.
  • Ability to work towards root cause analysis and direct Engineering solutions.
  • Ability to understand and own multiple areas in the plant in order to prioritize and assign work and resources.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at once.
  • Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Intermediate level

Desired Skills:

  • Basic Statistical knowledge.
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems/operations.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
